You can look on the back and inside drawers to see if you can find any markings for manufacturer. Compare to known pieces for style and age. I would take a guess this is a mid-century modern (MCM) hutch with secretary or just a secretary desk, although google images didn't have anything exactly like this. I'm basing this on the color and style but if I could see the legs that would help further narrow it down.
Hello. Hopefully someone here has the expertise to id date/ define your piece.

Sep 19, 2005 · Recommended by a fine furniture craftsman as THE book to have as an overview to recognizing furniture styles throughout history. My copy is definitely "used" but quite serviceable. This is an airplane flight over the history of furniture style, not a dissertation on furniture development. I would buy it again. Shame it is out of print.
Thank you everyone. You have given a lot to think about and pursue. Have a good week-end.

It’s tough to tell from the photos but you might be able to find a maker’s mark under it, on the back, inside a cabinet or drawer or under a drawer. If not, ask a at local antique shop for assistance or direction.
It looks like oak - maybe veneer, and reminds me of Art Deco. Beautiful piece of furniture!
