Yes, you can:

Yes!
It's more labor-intensive, but you can do it!
Thank you all so much! That info helped alot! Now, do I have to put clear coat or something like that on top of that after the stain dries? Our porches are a few years old and we never stained them. My husband got sick so now I have to figure all this stuff out. I pressure washed them already and they're completely dry. Now on to staining. But, again, do I need a clear coat or weather proof or anything after? Thanks so much again! Sherri
Hello. I might recommend that you look on your product labeling can or bucket for the proper application route for your product.
Or call the company customer support.
It is a lot of work to do decking (sadly we have to touch up ours nearly every year) and youโd want to do it properly to maintain your warranty for a complete satisfaction and great adhesion. I do know sometimes with the BEHR products if your product has been applied correctly they guarantee the finish and will reply replacement product if the product fails.
Yes, I have used one but make sure you spend a bit more for a higher quality one. Also, consider if you are using a stain that will need to be wiped. Another thought, the higher the saturation the darker the color.
Afterwards, add a protective coating/sealer.
Yes, just make sure you sand it down and clean it properly before staining. You may be able to rent one from a hardware store.
Hi Sherri, You can stain a deck in a number of ways. A garden pump sprayer or a deck stain pump sprayer is the perfect tool to use to apply deck stain. You can finish a deck that would take days to stain by hand in a matter of a few hours with a pump sprayer.
