How do I clean a black watermark from a windowsill?
One of my plants leaked and stained the windowsill. I have sanded it, cloroxed it, oiled it and nothing has made a difference. Help!

Oxalic acid. Mix it in water and wipe it on the stain. Let it dry and repeat if necessary.

Try this:
Dark or Large Spots
Dark or large water spots on bare wood may be removed with oxalic acid, which can be found at hardware stores and is used to bleach unfinished, water-stained wood. However, this is a poisonous organic acid, so wear gloves and eye protection before handling, and follow all safety and application instructions on the packaging. Mix 2 tablespoons of oxalic acid into 8 ounces of hot water. Dampen a sponge with the solution and lightly rub the sponge across the water mark. Let the wood dry completely. If the spot is not completely removed, apply the solution again.
