Window/curtain bracket- what is it called and what is it used for?

Swan Road Designs on Oct 10, 2014Yes, it is used to make a draped swag with a "blossom-like" corner. Similar to this: Small pleats of fabric are drawn up and between the wire loops, then fanned out to create a "burst" or, as I already mentioned a "blossom-like" corner. More than two can be used if the window(s) span a long distance. The device you show isn't a tulip swagholder, but it would work in a similar manner to the tulip one.Helpful Reply

Cindy Koopmans on Oct 10, 2014It is. Pull the fabric through the metal loops and you have a fancy look for the top of your window. Very 90s.Helpful Reply

Wglindner on Oct 11, 2014I think it is a crown at the top of the center of bed attach to wall and let the fabric flow through it to each side. But it looks like a very older crown. Some girls put like a gauge type fabric, or fabric that matches the drapes. It flow down on each side of the head board.Helpful Reply

Swan Road Designs on Oct 11, 2014No, not a cornice. It's a type of swag bracket and, as someone already mentioned, it could be used as a cornet over a bed. A cornice is a solid window treatment.Helpful Reply

Suzanne Melton on Oct 11, 2014The "crown/cornet" over a bed is called a "teester": https://www.google.com/search?q=Teester&rlz=1T4SAVJ_enUS517US517&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=AYc5VL7QGc2ZyASaoYD4Cw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAg&biw=1408&bih=719Helpful Reply
