KMS Woodworks on Aug 19, 2012it depends a bit on extensive this "crash" was. air bags can be deployed at 10 to 15 mph. which may crumble some of the body work...if this was a bigger crash then many of the "unii-body" components may have been compromised. Many years ago I knew of mechanics that would buy "totaled" vehicles super cheap then rework the body and sell them. The car fax should say more if this was the case. I recently had a wheel bearing on my truck replaced...this part failed some 5 years after that axle sustained a good bump on a rock that damaged a leaf spring... Many issues from accidents do not show up until some years have passed.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Aug 21, 2012Kathy, you need to contact your own garage to have a look see at the auto. All Carfax does is alert you to what you now know. It is up to you to get someone who is familiar with this type of accident to do a look see to determine what if any issues that can be present. What does the Blue book say about the car value? Good price does not mean good value.Helpful Reply
