Baby changing table ideas

Sherrie on Jan 13, 2015I didn't do this, but my daughter did, she took a dresser and took a piece of foam to cover the top and made a plastic encasing and then she made a couple of crib sheets to match. She also painted the dresser to match her brand new baby's room.Helpful Reply

Dianne Anderson on Jan 13, 2015I bought a changing table years ago when my son was born. Everything matched. Now, I'd search the thrift and sed furniture stores, find a dresser that is the right height (very important) and fix that up. Sherrie, above, has a good idea. I like the idea of using what you already have and re-purposing it too. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Maley Aka STLJunkie on Jan 13, 2015For my grandson, we used a dresser (that he still has in his room) and added some rail type trim along all 4 edges for safety. We had to paint them white to match the dresser before nailing them in. A regular size changing table pad fit right inside. (We used nails rather than glue so that they could be removed later. That required the small holes to be filled and then the top was repainted.) You could even leave the railing on the dresser top. It was a pretty easy DIY.Helpful Reply

Tracy Snyder on Jan 17, 2015@Kay What about a bar cart. I have my eye out for just the right changing table that doesn't look like a changing table. lol We don't drink so I was planning to use one as a coffee station instead of a bar cart.Helpful Reply
