Kathryn Fenech Russell on Mar 11, 2015I've used dowel rods, spoon handles, so why not? Make sure the command hooks are right size for the weight.Helpful Reply

Mcgypsy9 on Mar 11, 2015Not so sure the command hooks will hold the weight but you can try. Yes have done this before but hung mine with metal curtain holders/tie backs.Helpful Reply

Liz Holland on Mar 11, 2015I've seen it done in rooms in magazines, it looked really nice and rustic! Don't know about the command hooks tho. You might need something a little more sturdy.Helpful Reply

118330 on Mar 12, 2015I have. The only issue I had was not being able to slide the curtains easily to open them but with a valance it shouldn't be a problem. Go for it! Make sure the ends of the stick fit into the hooks.Helpful Reply

Tony Susie Rizzo on Mar 12, 2015I used to have my house decorated in Old West/Native American style. We have Sparkleberry bushes here and the wood is VERY hard and lasts a long time after cutting. Be sure to remove all bark from the stick along with any bumps from unnecessary branches. Be sure to sand the stick. I used cafe rod hooks to hold up my curtains, with one in the center for support. Make sure the stick is the right size for the opening of the curtain slot. Also, be sure the stick does not ooze sap. I loved my stick curtain rods.Helpful Reply

Darlene Greenshield Lenart on Mar 13, 2015My neighbor did she used the dec. Brackets to hold the branch. I don't think command strips will hold it . also if you use tab top curtains it is easyer to get them on and offHelpful Reply
