CK on Apr 09, 2015Just did a consult where the homeowner has cabinets similar to yours in color. We narrowed the choices to two Sherwin Williams colors. Lemongrass SW7732 or Straw Harvest SW7698. Both colors have green undertones but don't scream 'green'. You might take a look and see what you think. If you like neutrals but want a little change from beiges, these may work for you...along with other paint colors with a hint of green undertone. Think of what looks pretty with red and you're on your way :-) If green's not your thing, there are other color options too....but do stay away from yellows..they don't play quite as nicely with the red undertones of your cabinets. :-)Helpful Reply

Moxie on Apr 11, 2015If it was mine, I think I would find a color that is in the backsplash to continue that color scheme. I like the eye to flow all the way to continue the feel of open you have going which is great! If you bring in another color, it will block the wall area separately from the wall of casework and beautiful backsplash. I also think doing this will accent your backsplash. You may want to paint some cardboard or poster board a few colors and place them in the wall space you plan to paint (cheap paint small samples are great for this!) and they step away and see the power of color!Helpful Reply

Tammie Housley on Apr 12, 2015Think about a very soft dusty green. That's how I painted the base of my kitchen island and it pretty much goes with anything. I think it would really set the color of your cabinets off and you can dress it up or down as you like.Helpful Reply

Country Design Home on Apr 15, 2015Hi Jennifer! I know what you're going through-we're waiting for our insurance adjuster as well. It looks to me as if whatever color you choose for the kitchen will be extended into your living space, as there is no clear break in the wall (where I see the sofa, which appears to be brown with red and brown geo throw pillows) So you need to decided if you want to continue with neutrals throughout or add some color to the entire space. Since your cabinets are dark and your floor has a yellow tone, I am proposing a light gray with lavender undertones-Violet Mist by Benjamin Moore as an example http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-us/paint-color/violetmist- might be a bit too lavender but you can see how nicely it pairs, not only with the yellow floor but also with the dark brown cabinets and travertine tile.Helpful Reply

Peggy on Apr 16, 2015Check out Sherwin Williams Svelte Sage #6164....beautiful shade of soft green that doesn't shout green. Here is my kitchen with cherry cabinets....I chose to go bold with a Teal.Helpful Reply
