Divider challenge

Gail Salminen on Apr 22, 2015@Elaina Rae for a room divider you would have to hinge each piece so that you have an according type fold to them. You could paint them in a complimentary colour to your room. I have seen some posts on here where people have decoupaged napkins to furniture. It has a very elegant look to it. You can find these posts by using the search bar at the top to find posts on decoupage furniture. You could also adhere feet to the bottom - some people here have used finials for this purpose - great look. Another use for this piece could be for a headboard. I have a room divider that I am using as a headboard - ho hinging required.Good luck and do update us with a pic.Helpful Reply

Dottie on Apr 22, 2015A room divider would be great if you need to divide a room. I have also seen these doors used as a wall organizer in the kitchen (with hooks), sides of an arbor for the garden, a porch bench (using the shutter doors as the back), garden gate and sliding door hung from the ceiling. I thought of using the latter to cover my tiny laundry room door so I wouldn't have a door swinging into the space. Ideas abound on this site and Pinterest. Let us know what you decide to do!!Helpful Reply

Linda on Apr 22, 2015How about using them as a headboard for the bed? Take the knobs off, fill the holes and paint (spray would be easiest). Use to hold magazines that you don't want to get rid of yet. Or you could send them to me and I could do one of these ideas lolHelpful Reply

Terri on Apr 22, 2015I too used 4 accordian-hinged shutters as a room divider for quite awhile. Since it was positioned in the foyer, right inside the front door, I also added a very large antique box to the bottom where family could sit to take off their shoes then store them in the box. I hung my hats there (I do wear hats both winter and summer), and a small pot of greenery also. Good luck!Helpful Reply

Stephanie corley on Oct 18, 2016Check Hometalk. Someone put sconces on door beside their bed and it was beautiful. You could cut 2 of your doors in half and add the sconces. You could connect all the doors and make a stable base out of wood so they would stand. You could add anything you wanted on the doors. I have even hung doors from the ceiling to work as a room divide.1 marked as helpful Reply
