Help, what lamps should go here?

Jean on May 26, 2015Depends what the rest of the room looks like. Perhaps a driftwood lamp? Blue and white is always safe. Maybe pare down some of the shell accessories if you're adding a lamp.Helpful Reply

Sally on May 26, 2015I agree with Jean. The rest of the room will dictate your choices YOU NEED COLOR.Taller lamps bring some height to your display Either on both sides or just on the left side as a reading light. A coordinated table runner or small tablecloth will access your collectionHelpful Reply

Lynn @ Riggstown Road on May 26, 2015How lovely! Burlap or linen shades on a rustic wood base would really warm it up. ;)Helpful Reply

Me on May 26, 2015The handles on your drawers look like a dark pewter. If you could find a way to bring that up to the top with clear class accents it would be really pretty and tie the whole piece together. Then on the shades bring in the accent color you have is the rest of the room. Sea foam teal, sage green, would fit the shell theme.Helpful Reply

Linda Dorn on May 26, 2015I found this lamp on eBay for only $44.79 with free shipping. I would chang out the shade to match the room. WHITE CORAL TABLE LAMP WITH NEUTRAL/BEIGE SHADE OCEAN NAUTICAL BEACH~10015678Helpful Reply

CK on May 26, 2015Like others have said, it depends on the rest of your room. I'd be inclined to go with 1) clear glass lamps if you want the sunshine to come through or 2) a lamp in an accent color used elsewhere in your room. If no accent color is used then maybe a very textural lamp that you like. I do not think you absolutely have to have color! I think some of the prettiest rooms are all white with a lot of texture. If that's your thing, then go for it. Don't do color if you don't want to just cuz someone else says you have to ;-) I see you have a seashore theme started. Here are a few ideas. All from Pier 1. Click on each to see my comments. I also like Linda Dorn's suggested lamp if you want to stay with your theme.Helpful Reply

Swan Road Designs on May 26, 2015Here's another take. You might consider a hanging lamp or a swing arm lamp from either or both sides. This way you would free up your table space for your treasures.Helpful Reply

1673412 on May 27, 2015I think you have to consider the elements of your design here. You already have natural objects and glass covered with your display. I think something metallic, particularly brass, would be beautiful. It also needs some color. Perhaps bring that in through the lampshades. A bold geometric pattern would work best because it would be a nice contrast to all the natural shapes already used.Helpful Reply

Miriam on May 27, 2015There are glass lamps that are fillable (look on Amazon). You can put anything you want in the base of the lamps.Helpful Reply

Marion Nesbitt on May 28, 2015Don't know if it is the pic or my app, but everything looks white - even the starfish. I would agree that you need some colour. Which colour depends on what else you have in the room.Helpful Reply

Polly Zieper on Jun 05, 2015I would go with something very light-looking, as the colors you already have are whites/cream( maybe rose or mint green?). Maybe a pendant or two- they won't take up visual/counter space. or a glass-chandelier-looking candle-lamp.Helpful Reply

Polly Zieper on Jun 05, 2015Sometimes a bold color needs to be added, but in this room I think the light colors are very relaxing.Helpful Reply

Marilyn on Jun 08, 2015Since this is not a reading room or a room requiring a great deal of light, I would use battery candles disbursed among these lovely Sea Shells. Each of them have timers and in the palest of blue or green would be a show stopper from dusk to 5 hours later.Helpful Reply

EllieH on Jun 13, 2015Depends on what colours you have in the rest of the room. Although your warm white neutrals look gorgeous and a bold colour would likely detract from your lovely display.Helpful Reply

IFortuna on Sep 23, 2016You don't necessarily need color if you have texture. Pastels work nicely too. Some white nautical lamp would be nice, a seahorse or knots, etc. Aquas work nicely with white too in a seafaring decor. Look on Wayfair and Zulily. Zulily often has coastal or nautical decor at reasonable prices. : )Helpful Reply
