I just did this, scrape with a razor then use a baking soda/ vinegar/ lemon paste. I also use blue Dawn liquid if necesssary.

Use a Steam Cleaner, or the Proffesional Oven Cleaning folk or Sap Pads and Elbow Grease!
Hi Pedelin: What I use is a mixture of white vinegar and cream of tartar (the dry stuff). Make a paste about as thick as peanut butter, start with a little vinegar as the cream of tartar dissolves quickly, and spread it on the area. If it's a thick buildup, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then scrape off with a plastic putty knife. Reapply if necessary and then wipe clean with a wet cloth. That should do it.
