That is not steam, that is cooking oils, greases & smoke - 409 works for me Generally if you catch it early enough a dishrag with soapy water will take care of it with a little scrubbing, followed up with a quick rinse.

409 works great for cutting grease, but I have found nothing that will remove those steaks from the vents just above the door.
