Kathryn Pluto on Jul 21, 2015Use porch & floor enamel for durability on both cabinets & counter or use 2 part epoxy on counters on top of any paint, but sand & apply bonding primer to it first! Good luck!Helpful Reply

OnBlissStreet on Jul 21, 2015Hi there! Wowsa, there sure is a lot of tile there! I redid my whole kitchen for under $800 including the counters for under $200. I made them out of wood, there was no fancy skill involved, I swear! Here's my link http://onblissstreet.com/2015/03/kitchen-transformation-for-800-with-tutorials.html Just click on all of the picture links for the tutorials. Good Luck!Helpful Reply

Karen on Jul 21, 2015I think adding wood counters would fit your retro/modern vibe, and would be fairly inexpensive and durable. Just make sure you read up on the maintemce needs once installed. Reclaimed or recycled wood would cut your costs even more.Helpful Reply

Whomping Willow on Jul 21, 2015It may be easier to just paint all of the tile, especially if the sink and counter are in good shape. Then just live with it until you can make a bigger change. Here is a link to a Rust-Oleum product. I have not used it myself so..... http://www.rustoleum.com/en/product-catalog/consumer-brands/specialty/tub-and-tile-refreshing-kitHelpful Reply
