Sandra Greenberg on Feb 08, 2013no, its the cabinet automatic door of an entertainment center that opens and closes to veiw the tv. The door is suppose to open by using a remote but there is the problem. It will not open or close. There is nothing to do with the tv or receiver. It Is a piece of furniture by ello that is operated by a board with a chip. Ello is out of business and I dont know anyone who bought wiring plans. It may be a lost cause but would appreciate any input someone might have.Helpful Reply

Woodbridge Environmental Tiptophouse.com on Feb 08, 2013You need to find a electrical contractor that has a back ground in repairs of this sort. Can you find a model number or something on the control itself? The furniture store did not make that, they purchased it from another supplier. Once you know the information on this control you should be able to Google it for your answer.Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Feb 08, 2013I may be possible to "release" the door from the motor and operate the thing manually. Kind of like how you might use your electric garage door opener in a power outage. While bells and whistles can be fun to have there is simplicity and bit of beauty to a good old fashioned hinged door. If the system can not be released manually you may be able to replace the mechanism with a set of geared manual "flipper doors" http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=21577&site=ROCKLERHelpful Reply

Midlantic Contracting LLC / Midlantic Electric Inc on Feb 09, 2013Can you hear the mechanism when you try to operate it? The hinges may just be stuck. If not, and you can get the board out, look for a local electronic repair store. If none are available, try your local Vo Tech school.Helpful Reply

Rcp246326 on Feb 15, 2014The problem isn't hinges...the large doors slide back and forth attached to a cable operated by a small motor. You can hear the relay clicking when the remote is pressed, so the motor is bad. You have to dismantle the top and front facia to get at motor. Does anyone know the brand/specs of the motor?Helpful Reply
