They could be used as plant contains/small trees outside the door/ or the ends of a glass coffee table.

I see them as glossy black! Maybe with matching topiaries on each side of the door.

Spray painted any color they would really draw the eye. Turquoise, red, silver mirror paint, or glossy black as Alesa Holden suggested.

Those are AMAZING! Really fabulous find :) I would want to say a glossy navy or royal blue. Or you could hand paint fun designs on them (how boho would that be?!)

Oh, I wish I could find something like these. I love elephants and collected them since the seventies. Are they tall enough to use as a base for a console/sofa table? As for how to paint them, it would depend on where you are using them.

Do a little Google research on Asian of Indian decor and see what colors are appropriate and/or most common and go from there. Awesome find. Hope you share "after" photos with us.

Understanding you want to change these I feel it depends on where you are going to use them .

I think I'm going to use them outside and I think I'm going to doodle all over them and add a few fluer De lis's on the flower pot to tie into everything I have on my patio! I love all the comments..... But unfortunately they are a thin plaster and I don't think they'll hold up with items on top!

@Erin, thin plaster may not hold up outside. I had some solid plaster pillars and they didn't hold up well at all even after being painted and protected properly and placed on a screened in porch.

I love the idea of doodles with diamonds, squares, stripes, swirls, etc. using all the bright colors of India would be eye-popping!!!!!! Good luck with whatever you do because it is your design. I do hope you post pics of the finished friends (They look like they should have adorable names like Farley & Petunia or Rufus and Ruby.)

I say go crazy with a bunch of outdoor acrylic paints. Afterwards, spray with spar varnish to seal.

spray paint them bright pink, then paint with white enamel and wipe enamel off when wet so it has a patina look. Would be great for entertaining, all your guest would be seeing "pink elephants!" have fun, I'm sure whatever you do will be fab!
