Cathy Rayburn-Trobaugh on Sep 08, 2015Our property is filled with them. They are trees, so unless you want a 50 foot tree in that spot best to get rid of it or transplant. If you do want to keep it, they are really lovely. It seems pretty developed for being a seedling though. Are you sure it isn't just a small branch that is stuck there?Helpful Reply

Janet Pizaro on Sep 08, 2015I just googled and found new images. It does look like the tulip poplar tree.If it is not in a good spot for you dig it up and pot the plant until you know where you want it. It truly has a beautiful flower if thats the right plant.Helpful Reply

Gina on Sep 08, 2015Tulip poplars are beautiful but very messy. If you don't want a fine mist of sap covering everything with black gunk in the spring, then get rid itHelpful Reply

Dianne Ballesty on Sep 08, 2015Definitely a tulip tree. We have a HUGE tree at the corner of our property and I love it, consequently one of my biggest "weed" problems is Tulip seedlings!Helpful Reply

Carol on Sep 08, 2015Some one defined a weed as something growing where you don't want it to grow. Back east we pulled Queen Anne's lace as a weed. Out here they cultivate it and use it in flower arrangements.Helpful Reply
