How can I transform a dark, dingy basement into livable space?
I need to make a large basement room with only 3 (one accessible) small basement windows, cement walls and floors and open rafters into a comfortable living space. Cheap and fast!! help?!?

Paint the walls a light nd bright color, use a area rug, cover the rafters with some fabric, use accent lighting etc.
For starters, be sure you have any dampness issues addressed. Paint or stain the concrete floor and paint the rafters...both cheap options. Pallet wood is a good cheap option for the walls. Many places give them away! Good luck with your project! I hope you'll share it when you are done!
