How to make a temporary wall to form a bedroom in walkout basement?

My daughter is moving into a basement rental. She gets half the basement, but there is no designated personal space - just a 24 foot span that needs some kind of temporary wall (with a door?)in order to have some privacy and security. A long row of suspended curtains won't cut it. Thanks!

You can build something out of luan for the walls and frame up with 2x4 s. Add feet for stability to make it freestanding. She can paint, wallpaper, or add fabric to decorate.
you can add a door between panels.
Cork is an excellent sound absorber, as well as screen. The cork could be adhered to wooden panels, and a frame made for a doorway. Because it's a rental, attaching anything to floor or ceiling could be problemmatic. Does the landlord offer options?

Hi there.
I know of a big plastic LEGO block that interlocks and walls can be erected in no time.
They are called EVERBLOCK.

Good luck
Hi. The easiest wall would be a bookcase wall. While not the least expensive, it would afford a lot of storage. Use quarter to half inch plywood on the back and paint or wallpaper on the roommate's side. Good luck!

The last link I listed has some really good ideas for large rooms to make them into more of an apartment look. Another idea I have used when I had a 1 room apartment is to hang curtains as a divider. You would have to place hooks in the walls, use a heavy enough rope or wire and hang your curtains. I made mine out of sheets at that time and it worked perfectly! I hope these things will help you. It is nice to have some privacy for a bedroom in a 1 room apartment. The easiest way would be your folding dividers. We have one that we use in the basement to divide it as an office with a desk. My best to you. I know this will be a nice thing for your daughter!
