Pink Bathroom in Rented Apartment. What to Do?
This is my pink bathroom. The apartment is a rental, so I can't retile. What can I do to hide it or change its color?
It depends on the composition of the older walls. I would suggest taking out the older walls, and replacing with a concrete product made for showers, such as Dur-Rock.
To get a really nice result, I suggest taking down the old tiles and any plasterboard behind them. Instead of plasterboard, which is not waterproof and not recommended for wet walls, install cement board available at big box stores. This comes in sheets like plywood and provides a great base for the tiles. Here's a guide to help you get started: https://homeguides.sfgate.com/tear-out-replace-bathtub-tile-59223.html.
