I would like to replace my old toilet paper holders with new ones. Is there anyway to safely remove old toilet paper and towel bars without damaging the particle board they are attached to now? Thank you!

Thank you. No they look to be caulked on. I didn't see any screws anywhere.

You can use a blow dryer to soften the adhesive. You can use a sharp putty knife and cut into the adhesive between the holder and particle board. There may be some damage you can repair with wood filler.

Thank you. That would probably be my best bet. They looked to be caulked on because the holder is ceramic.

Are they glued on (probably not) or screwed on? Look under the holders and look fora small set screw. Loosen and remove the holders. The screws should be visible now. They are either screwed to studs or backer plates. (Plywood between the studs to screw TP, towel holders, mirrors to.)

Thank you. They are ceramic and look like they are caulked on. I did check for screws but did not see any.

Remove the roll holder and gently try to turn each one counter clockwise and see if they are bolted on.
