Purchase shoe holders the ones that are rubber covered metal they hold up to 12 pair I believe very easy to put together. If this is your house then add shelves around perimeter. Also only keep the ones you really will or do wear. Hard to do,I'm a shoe lover but I did it once and haven't purchased anymore and am ready to purge again because it is hard to let go. I understand if that's your case. Then in the future only invest in quality not trendy shoes, well maybe one per season. But it hurts to pay for really good leather shoes much more than payless. And really think about how many outfits they will match. I find that although I love colors I tend to stick to natural which goes with everything. Check your place and do you have a small bookcase that can be placed in closet? How about over the door holder? Maybe a combination of both is needed. I air out my shoes then place back in box so as to not get dust on them also I don't want clothes smelly. Plus if shoes are leather use a hole puncher in box so they get air remember that they once we're skin on an animal and when our skin gets dry we moisturizer usually for lack of humidity so make shoes have some holes in their boxes.
