Try putting risers under her bed's legs so you can store taller totes underneath. Build a wall of built-in bookshelves in her room or closet. Put shelves about a foot down from the ceiling for her collections/display. Put over-the-door hooks on her door so she can hang her belts/bathrobe/pjs and coat. Eliminate excess junk --most people have too much clutter and too many clothes. Streamline her wardrobe so she has things she LOVES to wear and get rid of the rest. Instead of wide furniture/dressers, use tall ones. Hang a mirror so the room looks larger. Think outside the box as to what she actually NEEDS in her bedroom. If she plays an instrument, buy a wall hook for storing it (ie. a guitar or violin). I hope this is helpful to you.

Oh, and if you do the laundry regularly you can get by with a reasonable size wardrobe. As a nanny and former housecleaner and the mother of 6 children myself, I know that some families ALWAYS have massive piles of laundry throughout the house. Get that under control and life will be so much better :)

Think up. Use the space all the way to the ceiling. A loft bed with a desk and dresser as the pillars has a relatively small footprint while combining three pieces of furniture in one. The side of the desk pillar is also a great place for the full length mirror! A 72 inch (or taller) bookshelf with adjustable shelving can accommodate fabric cubes on lower shelves to catch the small things, books on the middle shelves, and high shelves for displaying treasured objects. An over the door clear shoe storage makes a great storage place for belts, scarves, jewelry, hair accessories, etc. and should still leave enough space for a single hook for the bathrobe. Invest in a modular closet system that can adjust with her changing needs. My personal favorite is the Elfa system by Container Store. It’s pricey for the initial setup, but the modular concept can then be changed over and over very quickly and easily as her needs change. The system is designed to use every square inch of whatever size closet she has. Last, make sure everything she has is something she needs. Edit out the things that are no longer relevant to her life. You’d be surprised at how much you get rid of!

Use pallets to make the foundation on for the bed leaving a space underneath that can fit milk crates that items can be stored in.

I use a 4 drawer filing cabinet with deep drawers with high drawer sides, comes 45cm deep or 60 cm( 2 ft) deep, preferably attach to the back wall if possible as they tend to fall forward on some , the drawers are so easy to slide and you can fit in so much more than the normal drawers. they last a life time..

I have an even smaller bedroom. I have a really sturdy shelf over my bed that holds fabric cubes. It's awesome!
