How can I make "closet space" in a home with no closets?

Our home has one tiny closet under the stairs. That's it. Are there any creative ways to make "closet space" without creating an eyesore? We could use something by the front door and in the bedroom as well.

Do you have enough room to make closets in these spaces? That is what I would try for first...I would use antique wardrobes (or look at the wardrobe options at ikea or jys) second, in the hall you could use (make) a hall tree to address guests/small amounts of personal items, perhaps a bench with storage would help

I am in the same situation with quite limited closet space.
What I have done is purge the things you dont need or store other things that you don’t use often in another area of the house....like under the bed, garage or basement closet. Put you beds on risers and use low profile totes and spacebags under the beds. Switch out summer and winter wardrobes. Some people use storage Ottomans or trunks as coffetables to hide extra items as well. Lastly the beds with drawers below the mattress are options too.
Ana White has plans for such storage beds here’s a link that you could look around her website for other bed size options
