You need rigid PVC pipe, the flexible wont work, but I don't know if rigid would even hold up to the weight of a lot of clothes. I would recommend you buy a piece of pipe or a wooden closet rod from the lumber store, 1 1/4" dia., and get 2 of the closet rod fasteners at hardware store.... http://www.truevalue.com/product/1-5-16-Inch-Chrome-Heavy-Duty-Steel-Closet-Flange-Set/35433.uts?keyword=closet%20rod%20brackets. Mount them on either end of the closet with the U-shaped opening facing up and make sure their leveled. Also make sure they are far enough down from the shelf so you can get the hangers on the rod.Sometimes you can get old galvanized pipe from plumbers who are doing a house repair job, then use a pipe fitting to mount to wall based on diameter. Visit a couple and ask if they have any, our plumber has a box outside his shop to recycle old pipe.Helpful Reply -
