How to organize a small room?

My granddaughter has a very small room, and she has things on the floor her closet is so small its a mess. How can I help her.

Install shelving for books, stuffed animals & toys, install a closet organizer, have a garage sale for things no longer needed to help curb the costs, coordinate colors for unity perhaps a new spread and drapes.
A bedroom in my house is also small. I installed a shelf one foot down from the ceiling all the way around the room. Books, mementos and cherished items can get stored up there. If there is room under the bed, lesser used items can be stored in bins that fit in that space. A row of hooks in numerous spots i.e. back of bedroom door, side of bureau could be used for belts, scarves, robes. Hope this helps!
