Ideas for storing shawls

Does anyone have ideas for how I can store my shawls?

Lay them out flat on your bed or table.  Lay white or natural tissue paper on top and gently fold 1/3 from one end over the tissue toward the center section of the shawl.  Lay another piece of tissue on top of the folded section, and lay the remaining section over that.  You should have 3 layers of shawl and 3 pieces of tissue between the layers.  Fold as needed to lay nicely in a shallow container of sorts for storage.  One that zips all around or has a lid that can be kept under the bed or on a top shelf in a closet will keep them nice and handy.

Carla you do not say if you use these shawls all the time and also if they are fabric, or yarn. I am thinking you may use them all the time. If so and they are a light fabric like a scarf, you can purchase a pant hanger that you can hang on the inside of your closet door if you do not have a large closet and they come with swing arms that you can lock shut.
Bed and Bath sells them for about $7 each. You can also Google pant hanger and see who else sells them either online or retail. Cheryls idea is a good one also.

I have folded mine over a heavy plastic hanger, inside a zipped clear garment bag or recycled cleaning plastic.

Hang them from hangers made for slacks. The hangers have two clips, so you can hang two shawls or scarves per hanger

I would fold the shawls and drape them over a padded hanger. I'd be hesitant to hang them from a hook or by clips just because I don't care for the look when the fabric gets pinched. If you want to display them you could also try a vintage ladder (sanded to avoid snagging) or a quilt rack.

Dependent on what they are made of of course and how heavy, how about thru shower curtain rings over the long side of a hanger. I think also it might work well to attach a bag below so that you could tuck what is hanging down into it. As long as it is not made of something that will wrinkle (most shawls are not), it will also keep them from getting against something they should not be.
