Which one should I do first ?

In my bedroom, I plan on pulling up my carpet, refinish the floor, and then paint the entire room. Which one should I do first, the floors or the painting?

Floors first. They are more permanent (and expensive) than walls. Paint will come off refinished floor more easily if done soon after it happens. This can be avoided with painters tape and canvas dropcloths. Walls can be touched up more easily than walls
I'd paint first, unless you plan to use the carpet in another room. The carpet can be used essentially as your drop cloth.
