Hi Dawn. I'm Cindy. You can top your island with butcher block, marble, concrete or granite to name just a few. I would like a stainless steel top on my island. That way I could roll out dough, spread melted chocolate, or slice meat on it. There a lot of choices out there. It depends what you will use it for. Best of luck to you Dawn.
That depends on what you want for the final look, what your using it for and how much money you want to spend. Do you bake a lot? You might want a marble insert for making pastry, or maybe you want a butcher block. If you’re just using it for eating at you could use granite or laminate or even copper or stainless steel. The options are really endless. Everything from traditional counter tops to concrete or even crushed glass in resin. Use your imagination and make it something that speaks to you
