What is the best wood to use when making a dresser?

    This is only my opinion but if you wanna keep it low budget I would use number 2 pine. In my experience it is not very expensive (depending on how much you need) and you have many options for your final finish be it paint stain schalack whatever

    I use either oak, maple, or birch plywood for the cases. Then matching wood boards for trim and finish carpentry. Impossible to get wide boards unless you want to glue up panels. Which I have done depending on the application. Wood boards tend to warp and check. Plywood is more stable.
