Our Home sits on top of a large hill and the front porch faces the way the wind blows we get extremely strong winds that will actually take furniture off of our porch down into the yard I would love to be able to enclose that porch but the wind and rainy days drenches the porch. I have no idea what it takes since the foundation is concrete covered by indoor outdoor carpeting and the roof cover is made out of aluminum.

Hi Kim. Make the investment and have an architect draw up the blueprints. Then you can construct something that withstand what you're up against.

Can you extend your roof? Are you wanting to completely enclose or screen in?

Just enclose built to specifications for a room.

If screening in, you can add wooden shutters.

If yhevroof has stood up to the wind a contractor could frame in you porch and attach to the concrete

May need to loose the carpet.

This can be done, making your porch either a 3 or 4 season porch. This can be done as a diy, but you really need some construction background. Especially for the framing and attaching the frame to your home and the flooring. You need to consider what kind of walls you want and what percentage of the walls you want to be screen. You haven't informed us what seasons you have - do you get winter/snow?

I had my porch screened in and we get very strong winds and sometimes hurricanes (NC). I used this screen "system" from Home Depot and it has held up well. It's easy to install but can get a little pricey. Depends on how big your porch is.

    Check this out.
