I have an old deck that definitely needs replacing but it is a very expensive proposition. Just be sure to get treated wood and either seal it or paint it with two coats of special Deck Paint. I use Behr. Remember to do it when the weather is dry, too, so that the wood doesn't have a chance to swell and crack the paint as you put it on.
Hi there - We recently put a deck up using Trex decking - it's a composite material that never has to be maintained and won't warp. We have been super pleased with it.
