How do I use old pallets as floor of my greenhouse?

Wanting to use my free pallets as floor as my backyard greenhouse. I am having them sit directly on dirt - elevated floor and free. Besides filling in gaps in boards with wood from other pallets - what else should I do?

I would not lay them directly on the soil. Put down some landscape fabric for drainage, prevent weed growth, and pallets on top of that. You don't need to seal or stain the wood unless you choose to.

Yes you can. It might not last forever as pallet wood is untreated soft wood and will be in direct contact with moisture but it will take a very long time to have any effect on the pallets especially if they are inside a green house. I have a pile of pallets out in direct weather for about 4 years and I’ve just used them to build a rabbit hutch. Maybe put a basic membrane down for them

to sit on like some plastic sheeting or something but I wouldn’t worry to much.

Your floor will last so much longer if it isn’t sitting directly on the dirt. Could you put Patio stones or rocks under it first?
