how about putting old shutters around it. the wind would still blow thru yet you would have privacy. not sure how to anchor them. depends on what is there.Helpful Reply -

Here on the Gulf Coast anything on the ground is to be a "break-away". If you want a shower that may withstand a storm, I'd suggest putting it on the balcony and attaching it to the main structure. Good luck.Helpful Reply -

Start with a Google Search: ground anchors... choose the "more images" selection... click the picture you are interested in and then the "visit" tab. Here is one item I found there... there are screw in or pound in anchors made to support 4x4 posts.....Hurricanes don't normally sneak up on you in this day and age... I would suggest making privacy panels that can be quickly taken down and stored away (basement, garage, etc) by undoing a few bolts or screws per panel. ...the bare posts and framing... should hold up to the storm if they do not have any thing attached that acts like a 'sail' or wind block... the piping and shower head (if minimal in size) should be okay too... barring being hit by a tree or flying car, etc. The panels can be re-installed once the storm is over.Helpful Reply -

I agree make it anchored into concrete, and I would make the panels so they can be removed with bolts and wing nuts at the bottom and top off the wooden support poles..... cause anything that can catch the wind is going to break and blow away. We get hurricane force winds here on the Oregon coast frequently.Helpful Reply -
