What do I use to hold the charcoal in a homemade cement grill?

Where I want to build it is already cement but I just want something to be able to catch the charcoal I don't know what to use I know it has to be not galvanized

    Ask your hardware store about this. We were looking for something to put over a burn barrel and they sent us home with a metal mesh (1/2' #13 flattened expanded metal). That should also work with a grill, I would imagine.

    You could look for old grills (resale shops), should be cheap if they no longer work.

  • Any hardware store or home improvement store will have a number of grates for you to choose from. If you need an odd or custom size, find a local metal or iron shop (even some custom car shops), that will make one for you with the measurements you give them. How fun! ā˜ŗ
