How do I end crown molding if I don’t want it in connected rooms like a hallway?

You will just have to mitre the ends so the end smoothly together.

If you have a wall that separates the rooms--you can keep it in one room. For instance: I have very wide doorways that go from one room to the next but there is a wall section along the ceilings that separates the rooms--I can keep the crown molding in one room. If your rooms are wide open and share the same ceiling I think you need to do the whole thing or it would not look finished.

inactually took the walls out to open up the room. I may end up doing the whole thing. I’m also thinking of cutting it off in a corner with a decorative corner piece.
