If you're referring to the exterior cooktop, Barkeepers' Friend with a small amount of water. Make a paste, let set no longer than 30 seconds, because it contains oxalic acid, which can be damaging if left too long. Using a damp cloth, rub in circular motion. May take multiple applications, but works well. Do not let this touch porcelain, etc. If cleaning oven interior, try a paste of baking soda and small amount water. Apply over burnt areas. Let dry overnight. Next day, scrub with slightly wet cloth. Wipe again to remove residue. May need repeated, but much better than chemicals.

The best way to clean we have found is with the Hurricane Turbo cleaner that comes with 4 or 5 brushes and charger. It is powerful enough to clean stoves and takes all the "hard" out of the hard work. We ordered ours online, but you can get them at Walmart now and probably other retail places. They are great for car tires, showers, and hard to reach places like behind a commode etc. We love ours!
