How To Clean Stainless Steel
A gentle mix of rubbing alcohol, Dawn, water can work
Hi Kate,
I'm Linda and I have the same type of stainless steel on my refrigerator. Whirlpool recommends water and a mild detergent soap. Here's a link to their stainless steel cleaning instruction that includes the finger-proof resistant, which is probably the type that you have. Wishing you the best.

I use the rag I used for dishes with dish water in it. The trick to making it not smear is drying it with a microfiber towel. You don't need any fancy chemicals or cleaners. Wipe with dish cloth dry with microfiber. No streaks or smears.
Can't use the same rag that I use for dishes,It has grease in them from doing dishes with it.There are streaks were something spilled on the door and it will not wipe out.Thank You.
I had the same problem. The only thing that cleans it without streaks is Goo Gone. Spray a bit of Goo Gone on the surface and wipe with clean, dry cloth.
Did you ever find a solution to this? Pretty sure I have the same fridge and it looks aweful!!!! I have no idea how to clean this.
There is stainless steel cleaner. Use microfiber cloth that won't scratch
Stainless steel cleaner does not work on the fake ‘stainless’ that they call ‘platinum. It can scratch the surface which is like a plastic coating.
I use a damp microfiber cloth to clean mine and then buff it dry with another (dry) microfiber cloth! Good luck!
I found the solution for cleaning my look like stainless refrigerator. i used the same spray detailler that I use for my car. You just spray and immediatly wipe dry with a dry, soft microfiber cloth. It now looks new and I can see myself almost like looking into a mirror. Spray detailler can be purchased in Auto Zone, Wal Mart or any other similar store. About 6 or 7 dollars.
Wet Wipe or Soap and water.
If anyone still looks at this feed Weiman Stainless steal cleaner does work.. just use microfiber cloth. Then dry it with another microfiber.. thats as good as it gets. grats everyone on your fake stainless steal fridges..
I have the same issue with my new fake stainless fridge and I’m scared to use anything on it because my last fridge was all peeling it also had a black film plastic coating on it. I posted a picture of using just a microfiber rag.
To clean your fake stainless steal fridge just use a soft cloth (microfibre)
Make it wet with warm water but squeezed out good and wipe and let it dry on its own. In this way you will not get any streaking and fridge will stay looking ok.
You could call customer support of the company that makes your refrig and ask there, they should be able to advise you if nothing else has worked. Have the make and model numbers ready.
You can use a 50:50 alcohol to water mixture in a spray bottle. Spray on let sit for a couple of minutes then wipe dry from bottom to top with a soft or microfiber cloth. Go with the "grain" if there is any.
Hi Kate, hope this helps you out. Microfiber cloths are the best for this. Dampen a microfiber cloth in warm water and wipe the stainless steel to wet it. We found that starting with a wet surface made it easiest to work with the dish soap. Next, dampen a second microfiber cloth and add a drop or two of dish soap (less is more here). Slowly begin to wipe down the appliance.
There are a few instructional video's people have put together on YouTube for this same question of course, I have the same fridge. I actually have just been using index and it works with a micro fiber cloth. One of the guys used WD40 on YouTube and it worked okay but I find the Windex works best for mine which is a fake stainless plastic look-alike material. Hope it works for you like it did for me.
