After oven cleans and shuts off, wait until it cools down. unlock and take out the racks and wipe them down with a wet cloth. Before putting cleaned racks back in oven, wipe down the inside of the oven with wet cloth. All your doing is wiping the "ash Look" off the racks and inside of oven.

Use a razor blade for the baked on crud and put the racks in a big thick garbage bag, add one bottle ammonia, and set in the sun for the day. Afterwards, rinse with a garden hose. Obviously, you want to do this outside. Works every time.

My instructions for my GE oven say to REMOVE the racks before starting the self clean process as the racks will turn dark. Be sure to read your directions!

Hello! I have cleaned a dirty oven and racks by combining equal parts blue Dawn liquid dish detergent and white vinegar in a spray bottle. Spray surfaces and let sit for about 5 minutes or so. Then take a scouting pad to scrub off grease or other baked on grime. Repeat if needed.
