Fill the machine half full with hot water and a cup of white vinegar and run it through a cycle. Be sure before you run the cycle to take an old toothbrush and scrub around the lid area. You may have to take your agitator in the middle apart and hand scrub it, if you have an older machine. You should do this at least every 3 months, to keep up with it. Hope this works.

One of the easiest and effective ways is the mixture of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar and baking soda. Take a bowl and mix all the ingredients.
