Hello! Using ammonia works best. You’ll need ammonia, a 1-gallon plastic bag, a pair of latex or rubber gloves, and a scouring pad.
Slide one grate into the 1-gallon bag. Pour half cup of ammonia in the bag. Let sit for about eight hours. After that time, don your gloves and scour the grate. Rinse with water and dry with a paper towel. Grime all gone! Good luck!
It depends. Are the grates aluminum or the black cast iron type ones?
