Gwen, denture cleaner works great in a toilet. Just drop a tablet or two and let it sit. I use the overnight tablet and then let it sit for a few hours. Scrub as usual with the toilet brush and then flush.
Or, just wet the toilet bowl all the way around and sprinkle with comet. Let sit for a while, scrub and flush.
I put 2 cups white vinegar in ours to soften the mineral stains and let it soak all night or all day when everyone is out of the house. Then scrub it as usual. If the stains are still there I use Mr. Clean toilet scrubber to remove the rest. They are expensive so the vinegar takes care of most the stain. Hope this helps.
A pumice stone works very well. You can get one at any hardware store or big box store. I've tried the denture cleaner and comet before and they were a waste of time for me. Never tried the vinegar or mr clean scrubber, though.
I use a product from ZEP called Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner that I buy at Home Depot.
Turn off water, flush toliet to get out as much water as possible, fill bowl with white vinegar, wet paper towels with vinegar and place over stains. Wait overnight. The stains should wipe off easily.
