Kellie I love cleaning questions.
Try vinegar, salt, baking soda into a paste and rub.
The baking soda and salt may donit alone. If not I’d use a spray bottle to spray the vinegar on after he paste to work it’s magic.
Use a light green scrubber or plastic scrub to help you work it in. Rinse with cold water and squeegee. If you keep a squeegee in your shower it will certainly cut down on this build up if you’re good about wiping down after every shower. I learned a long time ago if you rinse your shower out with cold water after taking a bath this also helps. I’m not sure why but I’ve been doing it lately along with the squeegee and it seems to be helping.
Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a try.
Try white vinegar or CLR. My water is horrible and both work well for me. Just imagine what that does to our skin. No wonder i slather lotion on so much!
Here are a few options:
Lysol Power bathroom cleaner with a scrub daddy.
A no-scrub product is wet & forget shower. It will work over time. I would recommend twice a week until clean. Then it will keep it clean.
Dishwasher detergent dissolved in water to make a cleaning paste. Something in products like Electrosol removes soap scum and hard water build-up.
This sounds like I am in the wrong room cleaning but....easy off oven cleaner will do wonders for your shower. turn on hot water soften build-up then spray easy off oven cleaner on shower walls and let set about 20 min, use a green scrub pad to loosen the build-up, use as hot as water as you can to rinse. I cleaned a house that the build up was so bad I had to use a putty knife to help scrape it off, worked great just be sure to keep a flat edge.
I've always used The Works (Dollar General Store). It's cheap and works good. Just spray it on dry surface, spread it, and let sit for a few minutes. Not much scrubbing involved. Water neutralizes it so surface needs to be dry. Use gloves, it stings. For really bad stains use The Works toilet bowl cleaner but don't get it around chrome and definitely wear gloves. I have iron and calcium in my water and it dissolves both.
