You could have it professionally cleaned or do it yourself with a rented cleaner. If you want to do it yourself, look for a place that rents carpet cleaners. They also sell the shampoo. If you don't want chemicals in your home you can use water and vinegar instead of the shampoo.
Steam cleaning.
Do you absolutely love cleaning your carpet. If the answer is "no" then let professionals do it.
If doing it yourself, rent a steam cleaner and follow directions. There are cleaning products to buy to use with a steamer. Pick a warm day and make sure to vacuum as much of the luqid out of the carpet as possible.
Ask around and find a good professional in our area unless you have an extremely strong back and energy to spare.
