Can I paint the edges of my white rug that turned grey from heat?

It is a wall to wall rug . The edges are stained from the heat and do not come clean even after being cleaned

lowes and Home Depot sell decorative synthetic trim boards in various widths would it be possible to just lay these over the edge ? Or even mail them down. You would never match a paint to the rug. It would have a different texture also

Well, i would start with a qtip and hydrogen peroxide. Test a small corner, see if it helps. Be patient. If that doesn't help, try a watered down bleach mix. Test. If none of this helps, then you can try fabric paint. You can try chalk paint, test on something first. Once dry, you rub it to soften it. I've painted furniture w chalk paint, works well. The problem you have is that you're trying to get to white, if you were going darker it's easier. If you can remove the dark stain you have to coat the fibers to cover it up. Not easy.

I would try painting it (using a hidden area to test first)....you have nothing to lose!

I would start with figuring out how heat caused this much damage. Do you mean the sun? That would only be in small specific areas. Is the carpet in danger again? Is your home in danger? This sounds serious. 😇
