One word of caution....I did this once in a rental apartment with cheap carpet. The carpet was nylon and using too high of heat with the iron melted some of the carpet. Test in an inconspicuous spot first. You could try freezing it first and basically chipping off the frozen sections.
Try steam cleaning the rug
cover wax with damp rag and iron set on high. may need to do 3-4 times. Wash after with Resolve
if it doesn't go all the way through to the bottom of the carpet fiber, you might be able to scrape it off, and then delicately snip ant remaining red tips with scissor.
Try rubbing alcohol on minimal area, leave on for 10-20 minutes, wipe off towards the centre with paper towels, could also try nail polish remover but ensure it doesn't remove carpet colour. Then wash carpet with a eucalyptus wool wash. Call in a carpet cleaner for entire carpet with a spot clean. Failing all that replace that small portion of carpet (carpet shop)
I thank you all for answer my question and quickly responding. Since the carpet is nylon I will stay away from the iron. I am going to try Joyceln Walkers. Thank you all again Deb
you said you got the wax off, right?... so you're dealing with a red stain now. I would try making a baking soda paste with water and a little soap first. If that doesnt work, add some white vinegar for some bubbly action, and scrub with old toothbrush. Good luck!!
