How do I remove gum?

My daughter fell asleep with bright green gum in her mouth and it got stuck on her new sheets. I've tried freezing them and could only get a small amount off. Even if the color stains at least it won't be sticky. How do I remove gum from fabric?

Thank you, Shellie

Rub area with salad oil then hold under stream of hot water. Peanut butter works also. Rub with little brush if necessary. Wash area affected with Dawn dish soap.

I've had good luck with Goo Gone in situations like this. Let it dry out and scrape off as much gum as you can. Then rub the remaining area with Goo Gone.

Hi Shellie. I'm Cindy. You can remove the gum by using peanut butter. Smear the p butter over the gum. You might have to rub it in to get the gum to soften up. Once the gum is gone, you may have a stain left from the oil in the peanut butter. Liquid dish soap will remove that oil. I hope this info helps you. Good luck to you.

  • I have also had good luck with hair spray. I would just use something cheap and see if It helps. Good luck.
