If there are actual pieces stuck, put it in the freeszer for 15 minutes or so, the gum will harden and you can pop it off with your fingernail. If there is residue, use an appropriate colored shoe polish (the actual cake type, not the quick stuff in a bottle), the oils in the polish will move the gum. Wipe thoroughly with a clean cloth or paper towel to remove excess polish.

Try a piece of ice and see if you can freeze it off. The leather will be probably be stained underneath though - so get some leather conditioner.
