How to smooth fake fur after running through washing machine/dryer?
I accidentally washed a fake fur blanket in the washing machine, put in dryer and now it seemed to tangle and fluff fur. Anyone know how to re smooth it out to its original smooth soft flat form as it was when I purchased it at Joann's Fabric off a bolt? Guess it was to be dry cleaned only???

Try combing it was a wide tooth comb....carefully
Comb or brush it No fabric softener dry low heat or hang to dry then fluff it up after in dryer on lowest heat or air only settings. If it starts to get matted or balled up get something called a Gleener these are great for cleaning material, furry stuff, sweaters, heavy thick socks, etc. that get balled up like where the sweater rubs under arms and those little balls form. you can get them at Bed Bath Beyond,Amazon
Dear Ms Cooper, fake fur gets damaged with dryers;I think you should try to spray it with hair conditioner(one for extra dry hair)and steam-iron it.I have a blue-fake-suede jacket and, after machine washing-and a very gentle wringing-I spray it with a mixture-half/half- of water and hair conditioner. Its good that you didn't have it dry cleaned, you get charged as if it were real leather.
