Dog peed on my indoor/outdoor carpet and it stinks!

Janet Pizaro on Apr 22, 2016Make a mixture of white vinegar and baking soda into a paste .Put on the carpet allowing it to stay on long enough to release the odor. Then follow with a sprayable carpet cleaner. There are many that you just and and leave on.Helpful Reply

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Apr 22, 2016There is really nothing that will get the stench out. It will come back. and the urine soaks into the floor underneath and causes all kinds of problems and that is where a lot of your smell will come from. this is from experience I speak - tried to help a girl friend take care of a carpet that her dogs ruined. bought all kinds of sprays, vinegar, and even bleach. I would take the carpet up and make sure the floor is not ruined underneath- urine will rot the wood or soak into concreteHelpful Reply

Francesca on Apr 22, 2016I agree with c. Renee. I had a puppy who kept having "accidents" . We only had rugs not full carpeting and we had to throw them away. Nothing worked. Initially it seemed ok but then the odor would start being obvious. Also, even if you think there is no smell, your dog can still smell it and this will encourage him to think this is a pee spot. We also did get a patch on the floor too. So sorry !Helpful Reply

J on Apr 23, 2016There is something Enzyme D. It's made specifically for things like that. It was a life saver for us when our dog got old and had more than a few accidents.Helpful Reply

Bonnie on Apr 23, 2016I use Nature's Miracle. It works great, better than anything I've tried and I've tried a lot of things. You can get it by the gallon at a reasonable price from Amazon and all the major pet stores.Helpful Reply

Cheryl Dunn on Apr 23, 2016I've used peroxide and dishwashing liquid mixture. Check a hidden area to make sure it doesn't discolor carpet first. I've also sprayed on sofa and mattresses too. Sprinkle baking soda over area after you thoroughly spray stain. Reapply if needed :)Helpful Reply

Pennyless on Apr 24, 2016I buy Peroxide and put it in a spray bottle. Lightly soak up the pee a few times to get most of it up. Then just spray the pee spot with Peroxide as soon as possible. My carpet cleaner guy said that is the best thing to to for pee. It really works great!!Helpful Reply
