What is the best homemade carpet spot cleaner?

    Try very lightly making your carpet damp. It shouldn't feel wet, only a little cool to the touch. Apply Baking Soda with a scrub brush. The idea is to get the baking soda through all the fibers and down to the base. You also are trying to not allow it to form a hunky paste which will happen if the carpet is too wet. Allow to dry and vacuum up.

    Tuff Stuff is awesome. Spray it on spots, brush it in, let it dry, vacuum it up! icannot recommend it any higher.

    plain household ammonia in a spray bottle. White vinegar works too.
